Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) in Navi Mumbai – Procedure, Cost & Recovery
Abdominoplasty, commonly known as a tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure that removes excess abdominal skin and fat and may tighten weakened or separated abdominal muscles when appropriate.
If you are considering abdominoplasty in Navi Mumbai, the procedure may be suitable for people with loose or excess abdominal skin following significant weight loss, pregnancy, or changes associated with ageing.
Abdominoplasty is a body-contouring procedure, not a weight-loss treatment. It is intended to improve the contour and appearance of the abdomen in appropriately selected patients.
Dr. Vinod Vij is a plastic and cosmetic surgeon practicing in Navi Mumbai. During consultation, he evaluates your abdominal skin, tissue laxity, muscle condition, medical history, and treatment goals before recommending an appropriate approach.
The type of tummy tuck and extent of surgery depend on your individual anatomy and the amount of excess skin and tissue present.
OVERVIEW: ABOUT ABDOMINOPLASTY
Abdominoplasty or”tummy tuck,” is a surgical procedure used to remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen and, when required, tighten the underlying abdominal wall.
It may be considered when loose abdominal skin remains after pregnancy, significant weight loss, or other changes in body shape. In selected patients, the procedure can also address weakened or separated abdominal muscles.
The surgery generally involves an incision in the lower abdomen, removal of excess skin and tissue, and repositioning or tightening of the abdominal tissues as required. The technique and incision length depend on the type of abdominoplasty being performed.
A tummy tuck is a major surgical procedure and is usually performed under appropriate anesthesia. Recovery varies between patients and depends on the extent of surgery.
Abdominoplasty is not a substitute for weight loss or a healthy lifestyle. Patients should ideally be at or near a stable body weight and have realistic expectations about what surgery can achieve.
HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THIS?
Are you the right candidate?
If you are considering abdominoplasty surgery in Navi Mumbai, a consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon can help determine whether the procedure is appropriate for you.
In general, suitable candidates may include individuals who:
- Are in generally good health.
- Have a relatively stable body weight.
- Have excess or loose abdominal skin that does not improve adequately with diet and exercise.
- Have abdominal tissue changes following pregnancy or significant weight loss.
- Have realistic expectations about the procedure and recovery.
- Do not have medical conditions that would significantly increase surgical or healing risks.
Smoking, certain medical conditions, previous abdominal surgery, and plans for significant future weight loss or pregnancy may influence whether and when abdominoplasty should be performed.
Your surgeon will assess your individual circumstances before recommending surgery.
Which procedure is best suitable for you?
Different abdominoplasty techniques may be considered depending on the amount and location of excess skin and fat, abdominal muscle laxity, previous surgery, and your treatment goals.
Some commonly used approaches include:
- Full abdominoplasty: This is generally used when excess skin and tissue involve a larger portion of the abdomen. It may include removal of excess lower abdominal skin and tightening of the abdominal wall when required.
- Mini abdominoplasty: This approach generally focuses on excess skin and tissue below the navel and may involve a shorter incision. Whether muscle tightening is required depends on the individual case.
- Extended abdominoplasty: This technique may be considered when excess skin extends beyond the abdomen toward the sides of the body. The incision is extended further to address the additional tissue.
- Reverse abdominoplasty: This is a less commonly used approach that may be considered for selected patients with excess skin primarily affecting the upper abdomen.
The most appropriate technique is determined after evaluating your abdominal anatomy, skin quality, muscle laxity, previous surgeries, and treatment goals.
What are the benefits of abdominoplasty?
Potential benefits of abdominoplasty include:
- Improved abdominal contour: Removing excess skin and tissue can improve the shape and firmness of the abdomen.
- Reduction of loose abdominal skin: A tummy tuck can address excess skin that may remain after pregnancy or significant weight loss.
- Abdominal wall tightening: When appropriate, weakened or separated abdominal muscles may be repaired as part of the procedure.
- Improved body proportions: Reducing excess abdominal tissue can improve the overall proportion between the abdomen and surrounding body areas.
- Improved confidence: Some patients may feel more comfortable with their appearance after addressing concerns related to excess abdominal skin.
Abdominoplasty does not guarantee a particular appearance and does not replace healthy weight management or physical activity.
What are the risks associated with abdominoplasty?
As with any surgical procedure, there are certain risks and complications associated with an abdominoplasty. Some of the most common risks include:
- Infection: There is a risk of infection after any surgery, and an abdominoplasty is no exception. This risk can be minimized by following your surgeon’s wound care instructions and taking any antibiotics prescribed after the procedure.
- Bleeding: There is a risk of bleeding during and after an abdominoplasty. This risk can be minimized by avoiding medications that increase the risk of bleeding, such as aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), for at least two weeks before and after the procedure.
- Adverse reactions to anesthesia: Anesthesiology carries its own risks, including allergic reactions, nausea, and vomiting. These risks can be minimized by discussing your medical history with your anesthesiologist before the procedure.
- Scarring: An abdominoplasty involves making an incision in the skin, which will leave a scar. The scar will be located just above the pubic area and permanent. However, it should fade over time and will be hidden by most clothing.
- Numbness: It is common to experience some numbness in the abdominal area after an abdominoplasty, particularly around the incision site. This numbness usually resolves on its own over time, but in some cases, it may be permanent.
- Asymmetry: As with any surgical procedure, there is a risk of asymmetry after an abdominoplasty. This means that one side of the abdomen may look slightly different from the other. In most cases, this is minor and not noticeable to others, but it may be more pronounced in some cases.
It is essential to discuss these risks and any concerns you may have with your surgeon before the procedure. Your surgeon will be able to provide you with more information about the risks specific to your situation and will work with you to minimize them as much as possible.
How long does it take to recover from abdominoplasty?
Recovery from abdominoplasty can vary depending on the individual and the extent of the procedure. Most people can generally return to work and other normal activities within two to four weeks after the surgery. However, listening to your body and allowing yourself sufficient time to rest and recover is vital.
During the first few days after the procedure, you will likely experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the abdominal area. Our surgeon will prescribe pain medication to help manage these symptoms. It is essential to follow your surgeon’s instructions for wound care and avoid any strenuous activity during recovery.
You will need to wear a special compression garment after the surgery to help reduce swelling and support the abdominal muscles. Our surgeon will provide instructions on how to wear and care for the garment.
You must follow up with your surgeon regularly after the procedure to ensure your recovery is progressing as expected. It is essential to report any concerns or unusual symptoms to your surgeon promptly.
It is also essential to remember that an abdominoplasty is a major surgery, and the recovery process can be physically and emotionally demanding. It is normal to feel some frustration or disappointment during this time, but it is essential to be patient and allow yourself the time you need to heal.
Why Choose Dr. Vinod Vij For Abdominoplasty In Navi Mumbai?

How much pain can I expect after the procedure, and how will it be managed?
Some pain, tightness, soreness, and discomfort are expected after abdominoplasty because the procedure involves surgery on the abdominal tissues.
Pain medication and other measures may be recommended to manage discomfort during recovery.
Swelling and bruising are also common during the early healing period and generally improve gradually.
Contact your surgeon promptly if you experience severe or worsening pain, fever, excessive swelling, wound problems, or other unusual symptoms.
How many months does it take to recover fully and show abdominoplasty results?
Initial changes can be seen after surgery, but swelling can affect the appearance during the early recovery period.
The abdominal contour generally becomes clearer as swelling decreases and the tissues heal over the following months.
The timing of the final result varies between patients and depends on the extent of surgery, healing response, skin quality, and adherence to post-operative instructions.
How much does abdominoplasty cost in Navi Mumbai, and does it include follow-up visits and any necessary revisions?
The tummy tuck cost in mumbai can vary depending on several factors, including the extent of the procedure, the location of the surgery, and the surgeon’s fees. In general, the cost of an abdominoplasty can range from approximately 200,000 to 400,000 rupees.
It is important to note that the cost of abdominoplasty may or may not include all fees related to the procedure.
In some cases, the cost of abdominoplasty may be covered by insurance if the procedure is deemed medically necessary. So, check with your insurance provider.
It is also essential to remember that an abdominoplasty is a major surgery and that the results are generally long-lasting. However, it is not uncommon for people to require touch-up procedures or revisions at some point after the initial surgery. These additional procedures may add to the overall cost of the procedure.

Experience regarding laser is good.

My son (7 yrs old) had surgery on nose a month back. He had cyst on nose bridge. We were worried that he should not suffer during/after surgery. And everything went smooth and much better than we thought. The cut on nose bridge is made such a way that it is not visible easily and with minimum stitches. Medicine given was bare minimum required. The staff is also very cooperative.
And now after a month, the scar on nose is almost invisible with medication. Had no pain or any issues during this period. Now By looking at nose it feels like only a scratch and no surgery is performed.
We are very happy with treatment..
Thank you doctor, team and entire staff.
